I live by the quote “Whatever else anything is, it ought to begin by being personal.”; Yes it’s a movie quote, but it’s a good one. Every event, circumstance and individual experience is very personal, therefore it should be treated as such. I strive to help clients explore their individuality and unique life experiences so they may move through difficult circumstances and become whole once again. By truly understanding oneself and motivations we can focus on the direction in which we want to move forward.

As a mother I understand first-hand how difficult, rewarding, fatiguing, and beautiful parenthood can be. Often as we lose ourselves in becoming parent’s we simultaneously gain a love like never before. Parenthood reflects us in ways that force us to look inward. This reflection process led me to my interest in holistic therapy where the goal is to heal the whole. As Gestalt theorized the whole is the sum of its parts. By understanding parts of ourselves we may finally start to become whole again.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati and Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and I have experience working with adults as well as children and adolescents ranging from five to fifteen. I have explored topics such as Identity crisis, anxiety, depression, ADHD, (neurodivergent) ASD, and LGBTQ+ related issues. I use psychoeducation, games, breathing techniques, and rapport building to help clients heal.

My interests lie in Holistic Counseling and Therapy where the goal is to address the mind, body, and spirit to return to a state of wellness. This can be used with children as well as adults. I am interested in how our environment affects our health and wellness, from technology, eating and exercise, to cognition. I work to help others discover how untreated trauma expresses itself throughout the body and natural ways in which we can reduce these effects using evidence- based practice as well as meditation, mindfulness, and breathing techniques. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Narrative Therapy in a Person-Centered approach.

If you are uncomfortable with therapy, I don’t blame you. Therapy can be a very scary time and it can feel like diving into the unknown. I believe connection and a nonjudgmental environment can help clients feel seen and at ease. Remember that you are the leading character of your own life and everyone else is just a part of your story. If this feels like the right fit for you, I hope to become a small part of your story.
