Hello! My name is Karen and I am a dually-licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC). I use a non-judgmental, person-centered approach in counseling to provide a safe, comforting place to help you learn to cope with life’s challenges in ways that promote hope and empowerment. I use techniques drawn from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).

I obtained a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Xavier University and have worked in a variety of community mental health agencies and outpatient substance abuse clinics for the past 10 years. I truly believe that every human has inherent worth and possesses unique strengths that can help them develop a full and meaningful life, and it is my mission to assist in helping you to create that experience.
