Couples counseling grounded in Family Systems Theory can be incredibly beneficial for couples who want to understand and improve their relationship dynamics by exploring the deeper patterns that influence their interactions. This approach emphasizes the interconnectedness of individuals within the relationship, recognizing that each partner’s behaviors, emotions, and reactions are often shaped by their family histories and previous experiences. Counseling can help couples identify how these patterns, such as communication styles, conflict resolution, and emotional responses, are impacting their relationship. It can be particularly helpful for those facing issues like recurring arguments, feelings of disconnection, trust issues, or difficulties in adapting to life changes. By examining the family systems that each partner comes from, couples counseling can provide new insights into how past experiences influence the present and help partners develop healthier, more effective ways of relating to each other. This approach encourages personal growth while improving the overall functioning of the relationship.

History and Owners

Cincinnati Therapy center is a small business that was founded in 2021 by a group of women with a shared vision: to create a place where therapists feel valued, burnout is not incentivized, and client care is prioritized. We wanted to create a supportive team of therapists with a diverse background in providing care to clients.

We found the need for therapy services was so great that we quickly outgrew our original space. By 2025, we tripled in size and moved into a larger office suite specifically designed to meet the needs of our client population and to accommodate the specialties of our growing team..

CTC is equally owned and operated by three female therapists and licensed supervisors: Patti Biederman, Mariah Couser, and Amanda Meyer.

Mission

Our mission is to provide experienced, skilled counseling services tailored to individuals, couples, and families. We are a team of therapists invested in one another and passionate about providing individualized treatment that promotes effective growth and change.

Values

It all began with identifying a shared set of values that we not only apply with clients, but with each other, as a team of therapists. CTC was founded on the following values and principles, the very concepts that brought us together: Acceptance, Supportive Teamwork, Excellence, Passionate, and Respect.
