Hello! My name is Karen, and I am a dually-licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC). With over a decade of experience in community mental health and outpatient substance use treatment, I bring a compassionate, person-centered approach to the counseling process.
I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel supported and empowered as they navigate life’s challenges. My therapeutic style is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and a deep respect for each person’s unique journey. I incorporate evidence-based techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Reality Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) and Motivational Interviewing, tailoring my approach to meet your individual needs. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a powerful modality for treating trauma and emotional distress.
I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Xavier University and have worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds across a range of mental health and substance use concerns. I believe that every person has inherent worth and untapped strengths—and it is my mission to help you uncover those strengths to build a life that feels meaningful, authentic, and whole.
Together, we’ll work to foster hope, develop coping skills, and create real, lasting change.
