Time: 6:00pm - 7:30pm EST

Location: Virtual

Investment: $150/Household for entire series

Led by Hannah Woods, LPCC, and Samantha Wagner, LPC, this 3-session workshop will provide education and practical skills to help you better understand your loved one, reduce the strain that OCD can cause on your relationship, and take care of yourself while living with someone who has OCD.

“Are you sure you love me? Can you check I locked the door? You didn’t do it the right way”

The presence of OCD doesn’t just impact the individual with the diagnosis; it often impacts and sometimes burdens those who love them. Repetitive reassurance seeking, asking loved ones to re-do something the “right way”, persistently running late, or expressing worries that cannot be comforted, no matter how much their loved one tries- these are just a few of the ways that OCD can impact a loved one of someone with OCD.

It can be difficult to be a supportive person to your loved one while still being a human being with limits, worries, and your own needs. This is especially true as OCD symptoms tend to only worsen with the reassurance that is so desperately sought by your loved one.

If you are a loved one of someone with OCD and you feel strained, helpless, or confused by your loved one’s OCD, this workshop is a great place to start.

In this series, we will provide clarity on what’s going on inside your loved one’s head, how you can help support their OCD recovery, and take care of yourself to make a sustainable relationship through these objectives:

  1. What is OCD- Education on the diagnosis, what makes it different from anxiety, and how it can manifest in daily life.

  2. Your role in OCD treatment- Learn how OCD is treated and how you can support treatment and recovery with practical and straightforward skills.

  3. How to support yourself as a loved one- We will explore setting appropriate boundaries, engaging in self-care, and how to separate your loved one from the disorder.

  4. Individual questions- At the conclusion of session 1 and 2, each participant will have the opportunity to submit private, individual questions they would like reviewed by the workshop facilitators in the next session.
